Computational Cohomology Project

Conferences, Congresses, Symposia and Workshops

This page gathers a list of conferences and similar events related to the subject of computational algebraic topology (or computational mathematics in general) and its applications (mainly to dynamical systems and image processing). These events are listed in reversed chronological order (most recent ones appear at the top of the list).

V Developers Workshop on the Conley-Morse Database Project (Kyoto, Japan, February 10-14, 2013) - a workshop devoted to the development and applications of software for automatic computation of a database of global dynamics of a given dynamical system using Morse decompositions and the Conley index.

The 9th AIMS Conference on Dynamical Systems, Differential Equations and Applications (Orlando, Florida, U.S.A., July 1-5, 2012) - a large conference on dynamical systems that also includes a session on computational dynamics.

Dynamics, Topology and Computations (Bedlewo, Poland, June 24-30, 2012) - the third issue of an international conference devoted to computational aspects of dynamics and topology.

The 4th International Workshop on Computational Topology in Image Context (Bertinoro, Italy, May 28-30, 2012) - a workshop devoted to computational methods using topology for the analysis and comparison of images.

IV Developers Workshop on the Conley-Morse Database Project (Kauai, Hawaii, U.S.A., March 19-22, 2012) - a workshop devoted to the development and applications of software for automatic computation of a database of global dynamics of a given dynamical system using Morse decompositions and the Conley index.

III Developers Workshop on the Conley-Morse Database Project (Florianópolis, Brazil, February 9-11, 2012) - a workshop devoted to the development and applications of software for automatic computation of a database of global dynamics of a given dynamical system using Morse decompositions and the Conley index.

ICMC Summer Meeting on Differential Equations (Sao Carlos, Brazil, February 6-8, 2012) - an international conference devoted to differential equations; the meeting in 2012 included a Special Session on Computational Dynamics.

IUTAM Symposium on 50 Years of Chaos: Applied and Theoretical (Kyoto, Japan, November 28 - December 2, 2011) - an international symposium on the development of theory of dynamical systems and its application since the discovery of chaotic attractors in models of physical systems by Ueda (Japan) and Lorenz (USA) in early 1960's.

The 7th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics - ICIAM 2011 (Vancouver, BC, Canada, July 18–22, 2011) - a congress which is aimed to highlight the most recent advances in the discipline and demonstrate their applicability to science, engineering and industry.

Future Directions in Difference Equations (Vigo, Spain, June 13-17, 2011) - a workshop on the analysis of dynamical systems described by difference equations, which is a classic topic that has experienced a strong revitalization, partly due to the recent profusion of new discrete models in fields like biology, economics, social sciences or physics, and partly due to the ubiquity of the computational methods in the science, which have discrete nature.

The 3rd International Workshop on Computational Topology in Image Context (Chipiona, Spain, November 10-12, 2010) - a workshop aimed at gathering researchers dealing with the study of topological invariants from the computational point of view, and/or who want to use topological information in image applications; and also aimed at providing an opportunity for participants, from different fields related to computational geometry, discrete geometry, geometrical modeling, algebraic topology and image processing, to exchange their ideas and methods.

The Third International Congress on Mathematical Software [ICMS 2010 - developers meeting] (Kobe, Japan, September 13-17, 2010) - a congress gathering developers of mathematical software systems as well as researchers in algorithms and mathematicians who are interested in the development of mathematical software and systems.
